here is a little inspiration for some project ideas, with the help of Fiadh the dog, we discover some story ideas as well as some fun things to do in your garden. I will post some fun activity and lesson ideas connected to this video soon.
In the video we talked about going exploring in your garden or a local green space near your house (within 2 kilometres of course).
Think about what kind of fantastical characters might live in your chosen setting? Could they be wizards, fairies, pixies? What might happen if we were to write a story about them? Could our story be interesting if some hobbits came to visit or if Dumbledore appeared in our story. Use these ideas to:
1. Use your green space as the setting to write a narrative story from your imagination. I will upload a template to help you with planning.
2. Build a fairy village, use clay or make some salt dough (https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/howto/guide/how-make-salt-dough-recipe) to make characters, add doors, windows, volcanoes, castles or other objects to your story. Gather lots of things from nature to build a little fantasy land.
3. Be a nature detective! Go on a bug hunt, build an animal home! Go to the woodland Trust website and find a whole range of interesting activities to help you learn about the wildlife all around you, print off some spotter sheets, learn about habitats and who inhabits them. http://treetoolsforschools.org.uk/activitymenu/?cat=minibeasts
