The Wordsmith by Patricia Forde.

We have been reading this book called the 'THE WORDSMITH'  and it is already fascinating. Patricia Forde is coming over on the 14th of february to discuss the book with us and answer some of our questions. When she was writing the book she really was expressing what the people were doing. We set up the 6th class classroom for her,we put all the tables at the back and all the chairs in about 5 lines. When she came she told us why she chose to become an author she said "When she was young she moved house because of her fathers job she said it wasn't a big enough house because it there was her father, her mother, her brothers, her grandfather, her dog,and herself. She also said"since I moved house I also had to move school. When she moved school there where nuns working there they where really mean.Once in school the nun asked everyone do you have any pets at home and everyone shot there hand up some people said that they have a dog and some other people said that they have a cat.Patricia Forde said that she had a pony, the nun emediatley lazzered Patricia in the eyes and said "what pet do you have" and Patricia Forde said a pony. The nun didin't like ponies, and said why do you have a pony Patricia said that her cousine fell of a her pony and broke her back so she gave her pony to Patricia because she had to be in a weelchair for ever and ever.

Táimid ag foghlaim amhrán nua le rang a cúig, as gaeilge. Is rap é. An t-ainm atá air ná "An Cheolchoirm". Beidh cheolchoim againn agus beimid ag canadh "An Cheolchoirm". Táimid ag scríobh aste as gaeilge freisin. Is aoibhinn linn gaeilge. Tá Patricia Forde ag teacht go dtí ár rang amárach. Tá sceitimíní an domhain orainn.

Today the whole school put on their favourite type of clothing and came to school. If you wanted to wear your PJs, you had to bring in 2euro for temple street. Everybody got involved, even our teachers and principal!

Come on Ireland!!

6th class were cheering for Ireland (And Russia in some cases!!) in the Ireland vs Russia game.
We asked some 6th class students who they thought would win 21 students favoured Ireland and 3 favoured Russia

The whole school lined up and sang "Irelands Call" at break time.
Flags were made and songs were sang - everyone was ready for the match!
