Subject: Casting for Ad Campaign
To: Amy Rowan Asst <office@rowancasting.ie>

Hello
My name is Amy Rowan. I am a casting director based in Dublin, casting for film, television, theatre and commercials.
I am casting an ad campaign for a well-known brand. We are looking for ‘real people’ (non-actors) to take part in the ad and I am hoping that you will spread the word amongst the staff at your school to see if any of them would be interested in being involved. No acting required - candidates just have to be themselves.  This is our 4th round of this campaign, each one has targeted different groups of people.
For this round of the campaign, we are looking specifically for the following types:
  • couples with no children
  • younger couples who may be ‘pre-children’
  • older couples who may be ‘empty nesters’.
  • same sex couples
  • families with adult children living at home
  • people living on their own.

There will be a gratuity for those selected to take part.
We do not want to use social media so please don’t share this on those channels!
Any families that are interested can email me at office@rowancasting.ie and I can give them full details of what is involved.

Please let me know if you would like more information.

Many thanks,

Amy

Dear Principal,

My name is Laura Dowdall and I teach Creative Wellbeing to kids to support their mental and emotional health through yoga, self-care and creative expression.

I have worked in Schools, Special Needs centres and residential care homes for children and young adults with profound needs, the deafblind and blind community over the last 5 years.

As a Holistic therapist, Life and Wellness coach, Yoga teacher and professional dancer, I have brought the best of my skills together to develop the Creative Wellbeing program.

I know the pressure of online schooling has created a lot of anxiety and stress for teachers and parents of late and I wanted to let you know of two resources:
Yoga + Wellbeing Class (online) for 10-16 years olds starts this Thursday 4pm, Feb 4th onwards.
Classes are online via zoom- focused on supporting children with movement, meditation and self-care practices to support their mental, emotional and physical wellbeing.
The children have the option to share as part of this session but there is no requirement to use their camera etc- it is whatever they are comfortable with and the classes are not recorded.

Yoga + Wellbeing for Kids 10-16yrs = https://healingyoga.ie/teen-yoga/ - 6 euro per class

6 Week Online Creative Wellbeing program for teachers, SNAs and parents starting next week Feb 11th (with a workshop every Thursday at 8pm and replays if people cannot attend live):

https://healingyoga.ie/events/creative-wellbeing-teacher-training/

I would be delighted if you might be able to share these two online events with parents and staff who could fidn these resources supportive at this time.
Please feel free to give me a ring if you have any questions.
Stay safe and well-
Sincere regards,

Laura

We are happy to announce recent publications from the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) study, based in the Health Promotion Research Centre, NUI Galway.
The international report compares 11, 13 and 15 year olds, by gender, on mental well-being, health promoting and health compromising behaviours (dietary habits, physical activity, substance use), and aspects of children’s lives, such as school, families and peer relationships across the 45 countries. It also shows where levels of family affluence are related to how well children are doing on the various indicators. There is a special focus on the use of electronic media communication, including social media use included in the main report.
The international report is available to download from:  http://www.euro.who.int/en/health-topics/Life-stages/child-and-adolescent-health/health-behaviour-in-school-aged-children-hbsc/hbsc-2020

Accompanying the international HBSC report is a special issue of the Journal of Adolescent Health. This includes the first research papers from the HBSC 2018 study. All papers are free to access and can be found at https://www.jahonline.org/issue/S1054-139X(20)X0013-9. Three articles might be of specific interest:

Green Sod Ireland is launching its ‘Save A Sod’ campaign on Wednesday 2nd December. The ‘Save a Sod’ campaign, to protect Irish ecosystems and to encourage people to be proactive in the preservation of nature, is a new way to contribute and commit to protecting Irish land and its biodiversity.
It is a call to take direct action in response to the climate emergency, and as a valued supporter of Green Sod Ireland we are asking you to help by ‘Saving A Sod’ of Irish land.
Funds donated will be used for the continuing protection of the diverse land and its species already in trust – Connemara, Co. Galway, Redbog, Co Carlow, Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, Arderry, Co. Cavan, and Kinnegoe, Co. Donegal.
How to contribute: you can put your name to as little as one sod, or dedicate one or more to a friend, colleague or family member. For €25 you can protect a Sod of Irish land for one year. Contributors who save one sod will receive a Digital Certificate to acknowledge their donation. Those who save more than one Sod will receive a beautiful Letterpress Certificate, hand-made on recycled card and printed with ecological ink. There is also an option to gift or dedicate Sods in the name of someone. Family and corporate packages are also available.
To learn more about the campaign, log on to greensodireland.ie/saveasod.
With your help we can continue to protect Ireland’s natural heritage and wildlife.

A note to let you know about Family Yoga classes starting tomorrow and every Friday at 5pm.

Online Classes aim to support Family Wellbeing during lockdown and the winter months.
Classes are a safe and fun space for children and their parents to shake off worry, soothe stress, play, laugh and have fun together.

Classes will be accessible to all abilities and engaging for all ages.

Parents can inform me of any additional needs so I can best support their child's enjoyment.

Classes are based on the Creative Wellbeing Program that I facilitate in Schools.
Each week offers learning through yoga, expressive dance, self-care practices & meditation.

The most effective way to support children is to resource them with practical skills to care for their mental, emotional and physical health. Each week will introduce new self-care techniques that can be integrated into daily family and school life- helping to make wellbeing practices a healthy habit.
Weekly classes will support children to develop skills that will benefit them for life!

I would be grateful if you could share this with parents in your school, your PTA or on your school facebook page.

Here are posts that you can share from Facebook / Instagram.

Please get in touch if I can be of service.

Le gach beannacht,
    • Laura

Dear Anna,

I trust this finds you well, and that the children and teachers are enjoying the sunshine.

With children who have additional needs and their families in mind, I'm writing to let you know that I'm running an integrative healthcare service in Kinvara, in the premises of Dr. Matt O'Flaherty's Medical Clinic. I have a particular interest in supporting people in managing stress in their lives, and promoting resilience and regulation of the nervous system. My services include reflexology and craniosacral therapy. Alongside the hands-on aspect of the treatments, where appropriate I offer clients skills they can practice and use in daily life to help feel more centered and settled. Nutrition and lifestyle factors that support optimal health are also considered.

Having worked as an Occupational Therapist in children's disability services and in CAMHS, I see huge value in supporting the wellbeing of the whole family. Therefore, I'm offering a 15% discount to parents of children with additional needs. My standard rate for a consultation or treatment is €60 per hour. Children's sessions may be shorter than an hour and are charged proportionately. As you'll be aware, often the siblings of children with special needs also benefit from some support for their resilience and regulation.

Please don't hesitate to give me a call on 087-6606650 if you would like to have a chat. You can find more information on my website www.jennylambert.ie

Warm regards,
Jenny Lambert
