Welcome to the website of Kilcolgan Educate Together National School.

The school opened in September 2008 with 20 children and two teachers. It is currently located in temporary premises at Colgan Court, Kilcolgan, Co. Galway.  It is the first and only primary school in Kilcolgan village.  It was set up to service the greater ’south Galway’ area, which it does with children attending from the Oranmore, Gort, Craughwell, Kinvara and Ardrahan areas.

Our school is based on the four principles of Educate Together, those being that the school is multi-denominational, co-educational, child-centred and democratically run.  Read more in our ‘About’ section or on www.educatetogether.ie.

We recognise that each child is unique and that children come to us with many different learning styles, talents and personalities.  Recognising this individuality we aim to help each child realise his or her full potential  while nurturing the values that encourage children to ‘learn together to live together.’
