Spring has Sprung!
As it is Springtime, Deirdre came to visit us and helped us plant flowers and vegetables. We decided to use lots of recyclable materials to plant with as we think it's very important to care for our environment. There are some photos of us with our recycled 'pots'. We are really looking forward to Summer when our vegetables will be ready to eat and we can make a salad together, yum!
Waterproof?
We have been learning about different materials and what different materials can be used for. Last year when we were in Junior Infants we made 'Feely Hands'.
Now we decided to test which materials are waterproof so we collected a range of objects, each made something different. Below is a picture of the various items.
Our next task was to predict, which of the items would repel water. We then tested to see whether our predictions were correct and recorded the results appropriately.
World Book Day 2014
Senior Infants love to read!! We were delighted to celebrate World Book this by bringing our favorite books to school to share with each other. It was such fun.

What would you like?
Lilly brought in her toy supermarket so would play 'shopping'. Her shop came all the way from Holland! We had a great time during Aistear (http://www.ncca.ie/en/Curriculum.../Aistear.) pretending to be shopkeepers and customers.
Whales
We learned all about whales. We even carried out an experiment to see how whales blubber kept them warm in very cold water.
Bird Feeders
We made bird feeders so we could the hungry birds throughout Winter. This is how you can make them too.....
